Granville Island

Whether you live here or are just visiting, Vancouver is an amazing city to explore.  There are so many great places to see, one of the most well-known being Granville Island.  Located in False Creek, just under the south end of the Granville Street Bridge, it is a major tourist destination and working district.  In 2004 it was named "One of the Worlds Great Places" by Project for Public Spaces.

You can reach it either by driving over the Granville Bridge, or by taking the Aquabus/Ferry from downtown Vancouver, with stops in the West End, Yaletown, Vanier Park (near Kitsilano).  Once you reach Granville Island your senses will be delighted by the Public Market, with artisan products of every kind, the Brewery, street musicians, the Kids Only Zone, restaurants, theatres, and so much more.  Make sure you go hungry...there are fantastic food choices of all ethnicities, both savoury and sweet.  Make sure you have lots of time to enjoy your trip - it is worth spending the day here.
