June Market Update West Vancouver

With all the media hype out there, I like to refer to the actual statistics when talking about the market.  There are currently 548 detached units listed in West Vancouver (compared with 468 at this time last year),112 apartments (110 last year) and 55 attached - meaning townhouses and duplexes (compared with 33 last year). Gross sales for year to date DETACHED:         $894,889,323
in 2011 the same was:                                       $1,559,096,944
which is a decrease of 42%
The average price per unit this year to date is: $2,330,440
in 2011 it was:                                                    $2,129,913
which is an increase of 9%

Gross sales for year to date ATTACHED:          $61,515,250
in 2011 the same was:                                       $39,612,300
which is an increase of 55%
The average price per unit this year to date is: $1,230,305
in 2011 it was:                                                    $1,042,428
which is an increase of 18%

Gross sales for year to date APARTMENTS:     $91,916,977
in 2011 the same was:                                       $140,119,723
which is a decrease of 34%
The average price per unit this year to date is:  $957,460
In 2011 it was:                                                     $1,094,685
which is a decrease of 12%
